Plains, Plateaus, and Mountains



Plains are large flat areas, and have thick, fertile soil that is ideal for agriculture.


Types of Plains-  There are two types of plains.
Plateaus are large, flat, raised areas of land.
 
This plateau is in Venezuela.  It was created when horizontal rocks  were uplifted.


Mountains are another type of land form.  There are four different types of mountains.  


 


Question:  Where do you live?  Explain your answer.

List the types of geological land forms that you have seen in New 

York.
